The Dallas Cowboys have been in hot pursuit of cornerback Brandon Carr as the free agency market opened up on Tuesday. The 25-year-old CB is coming to the Cowboys from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cowboys are very eager to sign Carr to a long-term deal and because of that, a final agreement was not settled as of Wednesday morning.

Being 6’0”, 207 pounds, Carr is a good size cornerback. Drafted by the Chiefs in 2008, he started all 64 games. In 2011, he recorded four interceptions, only a 46% completion rate of plays in which he was involved, and gave up only three touchdowns.

The Cowboys already have two prime cornerbacks, Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick, and Brandon Carr would be a good fit amongst them.

UPDATE: The Cowboys inked a five year contract with Brandon Carr on Wednesday.
